Susan is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor and a CA Registered Investement Adviser, i.e., she holds a California Department of Corporations Investment Adviser Certificate. She opened Tiner Financial Services in January 2007 after completing a series of courses in mathematics, accounting, finance and financial planning at the San Mateo Community College District, University of San Francisco and Golden Gate University. Susan has learned to keep financial advice simple and clients focused on accounting and cash flow monitoring. Clients needing a professional money manager are referred to other advisers.
Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a second field in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Albany. She began her career in software technology as a consultant Technical Writer for General Electric Corporation, and joined Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1990. From 1997 until 2002, Susan worked as a software engineer with the graphics team in the Adobe Core Technology Division supporting Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PageMaker, and Acrobat.
